Okay my fellow book worms, who of you have read any Jill Shalvis books? Anyone? Well, if you haven’t let me let you in on a little secret, you are totally missing out. I have been a huge fan of hers since I discovered her books a few years back. She has several different series including Animal Magnetism, The Wilders and my favorite Lucky Harbor. Her books should have a warning posted on them, “May cause lack of sleep” because once you get started you just can’t put them down.
Her female characters are strong, confident, hilarious women, none of those typical helpless maidens in these books. The male characters are strong, hard-working men who, well how can I put it, drool worthy:) By the end of each book you will feel like you have read a book about a close friend.
Recently, I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive a free advanced copy of her latest novella, “Merry Christmas, Baby” for review purposes by Grand Central Publishing.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, BABY by Jill Shalvis (December 2, 2014; Grand Central Publishing E-Novella; $1.99)
Wild child Chloe Thompson can’t believe how much things have changed. She still can’t get enough of her sexy husband Sawyer, but he seems to prefer working to impending fatherhood. So tonight, a very pregnant Chloe is escaping her troubles at the town Christmas party.
Sheriff Sawyer Thompson hopes surprising Chloe at the party will give him a chance to set things right. But as the snow begins to fall and the wind rages, he wonders whether he can make it back in time. While mother nature conspires to keep Sawyer and Chloe apart, an unexpected arrival will require them to kiss and make up . . . and ring in the happiest holiday Lucky Harbor has ever seen.
In this book, readers will venture back to two of our favorite and most memorable characters, Sawyer and Chloe from the Lucky Harbor series. It is Christmas time in Lucky Harbor and Sawyer and Chloe who are awaiting the birth of their first child when Sawyer’s job calls him away. With impending bad weather will Sawyer be able to make it back in time for their birth of their child? Take a look at Excerpt from Merry Christmas Baby
The author recently stated that this book is her Christmas present to her readers and I for one am thrilled with the gift. Sawyer and Chloe’s love story still takes my breath away and the chemistry between the two characters is perfect. Another great read by a fantastic author.
